Life Coaching and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

If we decide we have the power to effect positive change in our lives, then we can. Life Coaching is a process of taking your dreams, ambitions and desire for change to the level of attainment.

One of the biggest challenges is overcoming force of habit. Have you ever set yourself a goal to improve your health, wealth or happiness, only to find that initial sense of purpose and vigour give way to the same old same old patterns of thinking and behaviour? Result: apathy and discontentment.

The reason so many of us fail to maintain the changes we genuinely wish to see is that our behaviours and ways of thinking have become entrenched in our minds. The more we repeat them, the more they become hardwired in our brain’s neural pathways. Think of a path through a meadow: the more it is walked on, the more established it becomes.

Intention alone seems to be not enough to make us remodel our lives as we’d like to. What is needed is conscious and consistent action. That path through the meadow takes more than a few well-meaning ventures along it to make it appear, and it won’t take much for nature to reclaim it again. So the answer is to make that desired change in your habits or behaviours, then do it again and again and again… even when – especially when – you don’t feel like it. And thus a new pathway is eventually formed.

This is not a quick or simple process – but we all have it in us to achieve it. In Yogic philosophy it is said that it takes 40 days of consistent action to break a habit and 90 days to instil a new one. That’s a lot of baby steps to reach your goal. But then no one in their right mind would rock up to the London Marathon expecting to run it without having put the work into training and preparing beforehand. Yes, those first training runs may be hard on the body and mind but, over time, it becomes easier. It’s incrementally that we grow, bit by bit, step by step, and breath by breath.

As a life coach I work to support my clients in making the changes they wish to make in their lives. Together we create a detailed, accomplishable plan of action to progress things forward. I then support you to make those changes by completing weekly tasks, taking action where there has been none or little before. Sometimes beliefs or feelings rise to the surface that might be hindering your best efforts to change. This is when we might consider working with a therapeutic method called emotional freedom technique (EFT) to dissolve the emotional blockages.

EFT (sometimes known as tapping) is a universal healing tool that can provide impressive results for physical, emotional, and performance issues. It operates on the premise that no matter what part of your life needs improvement, there are unresolved emotional issues in the way.

About 5,000 years ago, the Chinese discovered a complex system of energy circuits that run throughout the body. These energy circuits – or meridians as they are called – are the centrepiece of Eastern health practices and form the basis for modern-day acupuncture.

While related to acupuncture, EFT does not use needles. Instead, we stimulate certain meridian points on the body by tapping on them with our fingertips. Properly done, EFT balances disturbances in the meridian system. The basic tapping process is easy to learn and, once learned, can be done anywhere, and can be used to provide impressive results.

I offer one-to-one sessions to assist you in moving past restricting beliefs and perceived blocks to create a more fulfilling experience. At Triyoga Camden Wednesday afternoons 12:30 – 16:30 and in my Therapy Centre near Liverpool St as requested.

£75 per session (concessions available upon request)

I worked with Ashley during a time when I felt stuck in many areas of my life. I felt life had gotten very serious and nothing was flowing. Ashley helped me get clear about what changes would make the biggest difference, and we broke it down into baby steps to get me there.

As a consequence I feel some big transformations have happened, most notably in work, the sessions gave me the courage to dream big and go for what I wanted. It’s lovely to work with someone who believes in you and helps you to see that you are never truly stuck; change and transformation is easier than you think.

I was quite confused about one aspect of my life and sought Ashley’s help to bring clarity to it. Ashley helped me in setting up realistic goals, suggested practices and worked with me using her toolbox to better match what I needed at any specific point in time.
You will have to do the work, of course, but Ashley helped me setting up a framework which served me well.

If you feel a bit stuck and are not sure how to move forward, I would recommend to go and see her!
