Awakening the Ancient Within through Yoga, Ceremony and Sacred Sites
There are places in the world you visit. And there are places that visit you back.
Egypt is one of them.
Join me for an extraordinary journey through the temples, pyramids and sacred landscapes of Egypt, a journey into ancient mystery, embodied practice and an opportunity to reconnect with something ancient and deeply familiar within us.
From the Great Pyramid of Giza to the temples of Luxor, Edfu, Dendera and Abydos, we will travel through a land where mythology, ritual, architecture and the Nile have been intertwined for thousands of years.
This tour is not simply a holiday nor is it simply a yoga retreat. And it is certainly not a traditional sightseeing tour.
It is an invitation to experience Egypt from the inside out.
A sacred adventure combining movement, meditation, breathwork, ceremony, deep rest and access to some of Egypt’s most extraordinary and powerful ancient sites.
A journey through the outer temples while simultaneously entering the temple within.
Is Egypt calling you?
Are you ready to answer if so?
This Journey will include access to sacred places not on the average tour menu with private access to some of Egypts most intriguing and powerful sites. Including a dawn private access to the Great Pyramid.
AWAKEN THE ANCIENT WITHIN
There is something about Egypt that can be difficult to explain. You can read about the temples. You can study the hieroglyphs. You can stand beneath the immense stones of the pyramids and listen to the stories of the ancient world. But there is another way to experience Egypt.
Through the feeling that arises when you stand somewhere people have stood for thousands of years before you.
This journey is an invitation into that experience.
Together, we will move through sacred landscapes at a different pace beginning our days with practice, entering temples with intention, making space for silence and allowing the land itself to become part of the experience.
We will walk where the ancients walked. We will sit beneath the same sun. We will follow the Nile.
We will enter temples dedicated to the great Neters and explore places where ritual, astronomy, mythology, sacred geometry and human consciousness were woven into the architecture itself.
And perhaps, somewhere along the way, something inside you will become quiet enough to remember.
Remember the sacredness of being alive.

PROGRAMME
FROM THE GREAT PYRAMID TO THE TEMPLES OF LUXOR & ABYDOS
This journey through Egypt blends ancient temple exploration with daily yoga, sacred ritual, rest and energetic work. It is a journey of awakening and remembering, designed to support spiritual integration through place, practice and presence.
DAY 1 — MONDAY 19TH APRIL
ARRIVAL IN CAIRO
The adventure begins as you arrive in Cairo and are welcomed at the airport. We’ll gather for our first meal together in the evening, a gentle landing into the container we’re co-creating and an opportunity to meet one another before the journey truly begins.
This first evening is about arriving, meeting the group and allowing yourself to settle into the energy of Egypt. There is no need to rush. The journey begins gently.
DAY 2 — TUESDAY 20TH APRIL
RED & BENT PYRAMIDS
We begin the day with a morning practice to ground and attune before journeying to Dashur to visit the Red and Bent Pyramids.
These less-visited pyramids offer a powerful introduction to the ancient landscape and give us space to explore away from some of the busier tourist sites. There is something very special about encountering these extraordinary structures with a little more space around us, allowing time to take in the scale, architecture and atmosphere of the landscape.
After our exploration, there will be time to rest in the afternoon or, for those who wish, take an optional visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum.
The museum offers another perspective on the vastness of Egyptian civilisation, bringing together an extraordinary collection spanning thousands of years of history and allowing us to encounter many of the objects and stories that we will be meeting throughout our journey.
We then gather together for dinner and an evening of connection before another full day of exploration.
DAY 3 — WEDNESDAY 21ST APRIL
SAQQARA, INNER PREPARATION & THE MAZAHER ENSEMBLE
Our morning practice prepares us for Saqqara, one of the most extraordinary archaeological and sacred landscapes in Egypt.
Saqqara was the ancient necropolis of Memphis and is home to the Step Pyramid of Djoser, recognised as the first pyramid ever built. The wider landscape holds layers of Egyptian civilisation spanning thousands of years, with pyramids, temples, tombs and sacred structures revealing something of the extraordinary evolution of ancient Egyptian architecture, ritual and understanding of life, death and what lies beyond.
We will explore the Step Pyramid, the Serapeum and the Tomb of Ti, taking time to appreciate not only the incredible architecture and history of this place, but the atmosphere of a landscape that was considered sacred and used for generations.
There is something particularly powerful about Saqqara. It feels less like visiting one monument and more like entering an entire ancient world. Walking through the site, we begin to see that these places were part of a much larger relationship between the living, the dead, the Neters, the sacred and the natural world.
After our exploration, we return for lunch and time to rest before gathering later for a very special encounter with a living embodied tradition that is The Mazaher Ensemble.
THE MAZAHER ENSEMBLE
A very special evening activity and one of the last remaining groups carrying the tradition of Zar music in Egypt.
Zar is not simply music as we might ordinarily understand it. It is a traditional form of communal ritual in which rhythm, repetition, movement and sound come together to create a powerful physical and emotional experience. The tradition has long been connected with healing, release and the processing of the inner life.
The Mazaher Ensemble is particularly special because women hold the leading artistic roles, with senior musicians including Um Sameh, Um Hassan and Nour El Sabah carrying a tradition that has been passed down through generations.
After a day spent amongst the ancient stones and sacred landscape of Saqqara, this evening gives us another way to experience Egypt through rhythm, sound, movement and a living tradition that continues to be carried today.
It feels important to experience both sides of Egypt: the ancient temples and monuments that have survived through thousands of years, and the living cultural traditions that continue to breathe, evolve and be passed from one generation to the next through the matrilineal line.
We will listen, feel the rhythm and allow ourselves to experience the music through the body before returning to rest, with the Great Pyramid awaiting us at dawn.
DAY 4 — THURSDAY 22ND APRIL
THE GREAT PYRAMID, THE SPHINX & JOURNEY TO LUXOR
We rise early for exclusive private access inside the Great Pyramid, a once-in-a-lifetime experience and one of the highlights of our journey through Egypt.
There is something extraordinary about entering this ancient structure in the quiet of the early morning, allowing ourselves to experience the space without the usual rush of the day around us. This is a moment to be present, to breathe and to simply take in the enormity of where we are.
Afterwards, we visit the Valley Temple and the Sphinx before the crowds, giving us time to explore this extraordinary landscape before beginning our journey south.
Later, we travel towards Luxor, following the Nile as the landscape changes around us. We leave Cairo behind and begin to move deeper into the ancient heart of Egypt, travelling towards Luxor, the ancient city of temples and transformation.
Upon arrival, we settle into our peaceful retreat base on the Nile, with time to ground, rest and gather together for evening practice and dinner.
DAY 5 — FRIDAY 23RD APRIL
EDFU & ESNA — TEMPLES OF HORUS & KHNUM
Our first full day in the south takes us deeper into the ancient landscape as we journey towards Edfu and Esna.
We visit the magnificent Temple of Horus at Edfu, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. Dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed Neter associated with kingship, protection and divine order, the temple offers an extraordinary opportunity to experience the mythology and ritual traditions of ancient Egypt through its vast walls, reliefs and sacred spaces.
From Edfu we continue to Esna and the Temple of Khnum, another remarkable site with its own layers of mythology, symbolism and story.
These temples invite us into a different aspect of ancient Egypt, where the stories of the Neters were not simply mythology but were woven into the architecture, ceremonies and understanding of life itself.
We will have time to explore, absorb and experience these places before returning to Luxor for dinner and an evening session with a local guide and healer.
DAY 6 — SATURDAY 24TH APRIL
KARNAK TEMPLE & INTEGRATION
We make an early visit to the majestic Karnak Temple, an energetic powerhouse and one of the largest temple complexes in the world.
Karnak is vast, intricate and filled with layers of history, symbolism and sacred architecture. We will explore these special power spots and create space for you to have your own experience with the timeless Neters.
Rather than rushing through the complex, there will be an invitation to slow down, observe and feel into the space around you.
The remainder of the day allows time for rest and integration, with optional exploring and dinner out in the heart of Luxor.
DAY 7 — SUNDAY 25TH APRIL
Deir el-Shelwit Temple of Isis and the powerful Medinet Habu.
Each of these places offers another doorway into the world of ancient Egypt and its relationship with the sacred. We will take our time exploring, allowing ourselves to look beyond the architecture and connect with the stories, symbolism and mythology held within these extraordinary temples.
There will be space throughout the day to pause and take in the landscape of the West Bank before we make our way back towards the Nile.
As the day begins to soften, we take a sunset boat trip on the river. After the intensity of the temples, this is a chance to slow down and simply watch the landscape move around us, allowing the rhythm of the Nile to become part of our experience.
DAY 8 — MONDAY 26TH APRIL
DENDERA — TEMPLE OF HATHOR
We journey to the exquisite Temple of Hathor at Dendera, connecting with the feminine energy of Hathor at one of Egypt’s most vibrant and complete temples.
Dendera is a place of extraordinary beauty and symbolism. We’ll explore the crypts, rooftop altars and famous zodiac ceiling, taking time to appreciate the detail and stories held within the temple.
Hathor carries many qualities within Egyptian mythology —love, beauty, music, joy, motherhood and feminine power this gives us another opportunity to explore the feminine dimensions of the ancient Egyptian world.
In the evening, we share a traditional dinner and have time for sacred shopping before returning to rest.
DAY 9 — TUESDAY 27TH APRIL
DEPARTURE from luxor & INTEGRATION
After so many days of movement, exploration, practice and discovery, we create some space simply to be. There is no need to rush into the final moments. Take time to reflect, journal, share a final breakfast together or simply sit beside the Nile and watch the river move.
Perhaps you will find yourself thinking back to the first morning in Cairo, to Saqqara and the ancient landscape, the rhythm of the Mazaher Ensemble, the stillness inside the Great Pyramid, the temples of Luxor and the waters of the Nile.
The journey may be coming to an end, but the experience does not necessarily end when we leave Egypt.
The temples, the Nile, the ancient stories, the music, the practices and the experiences we have shared become part of our own journey of remembering.
We depart at our own pace, with assistance with transport logistics as needed.
Carry Egypt home within you.
